Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 2, 2026

MoonQ is an astrology guidance app published by Magic Unicorn Inc. This policy explains what information the app handles, how it is used, and the choices you have. We have designed MoonQ to keep your personal details on your device and to collect as little as possible.

The short version

  • Your birth details and first name are stored only on your device.
  • Signing in with Apple is optional. If you choose it, we save a copy of your chart to our server, tied to your Apple ID, so it isn't lost if you lose your phone. You can use the entire app without signing in.
  • When you ask the in-app guide a question or request a reading, your question and a summary of your chart are sent to our server and on to AI providers so we can generate a response.
  • We do not sell your personal data, use it for cross-app tracking, or build advertising profiles about you.
  • Purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details.
  • To measure which marketing campaigns bring people to MoonQ, we use AppsFlyer for install and purchase attribution. This uses Apple's privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork (aggregate, non-identifying) and AdServicesno advertising identifier (IDFA) and no App Tracking Transparency prompt. There are no other third-party analytics or advertising SDKs in the app.
  • You can delete everything by deleting the app; if you signed in with Apple, you can also delete your saved chart from our server at any time — in the app or by emailing us.

Who we are

MoonQ is developed and operated by Magic Unicorn Inc. ("we," "us," "our"). If you have any questions about this policy or your privacy, contact us at gabrelyanov@gmail.com.

Information stored on your device

MoonQ does not require an account to use. To calculate your astrological chart, the app asks you to enter:

  • Your first name;
  • Your date of birth;
  • Your time of birth; and
  • Your place of birth (city / location).

These birth details are stored locally on your device and are used to compute and display your chart and readings. Unless you choose to sign in with Apple (see below), we do not keep a copy of your birth details on our servers or use them to create a profile of you.

Optional sign in with Apple

MoonQ offers an optional way to sign in with your Apple ID so your chart is saved and can be restored if you lose or replace your phone. You never have to sign in — the entire app works without it. If you do sign in with Apple:

  • We receive from Apple a unique Apple user identifier for you. If you choose to share it, we may also receive your email address (or Apple's private-relay address if you hide it). We use these only to recognize your account and, where you've provided it, to contact you about your account.
  • We store a copy of your chart data (your birth details and derived chart) on our server, linked to that identifier, so we can restore it to a new device when you sign in again.
  • We do not use this to advertise to you, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with the AI providers as an identity record.

Deleting your account: you can permanently delete your saved chart and unlink your Apple ID at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account & data in the app. You can also request deletion by emailing gabrelyanov@gmail.com. Deleting your account removes the copy of your chart from our server; the chart on your device stays until you remove it or delete the app.

Information sent to our server and AI providers

Some features are generated with the help of artificial intelligence. When you ask the in-app guide a question, or request an audio reading or a daily reading, the app sends the following to our server, which relays it to our AI service providers so a response can be created:

  • The text of your question or request; and
  • A summary of your chart (for example, relevant astrological placements) needed to personalize the answer.

This information is processed only to generate the guidance you asked for and to return it to your device. We do not use it to advertise to you, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to build accounts or profiles about you on our servers.

AI processing disclosure

To generate responses, our server shares the question text and chart summary described above with third-party AI providers acting as our processors:

  • Text generation is performed using Anthropic-family large language models.
  • Audio readings are produced using ElevenLabs text-to-speech.

These providers process the data on our behalf to return generated text or audio. Their handling of data is governed by their own terms and privacy practices. We share only what is needed to produce your requested content, and we do not send them your stored birth details as an identity record.

Subscriptions and payments

MoonQ offers an optional subscription, MoonQ+. All purchases and renewals are processed by Apple through your Apple ID using Apple's in-app purchase system. We never receive or store your payment card details. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.

Notifications

If you enable notifications, reminders such as daily readings are scheduled locally on your device. We do not maintain a server-side profile of your notification activity for these reminders.

Advertising measurement (attribution)

So we know which marketing campaigns are worth running, MoonQ measures — in a privacy-preserving way — whether an install or purchase followed one of our ads. We use AppsFlyer as our attribution processor for this, and only this.

What is shared:

  • Device-level install and attribution signals (for example, that an install occurred and which campaign it can be linked to) are processed by AppsFlyer on our behalf.
  • Apple's SKAdNetwork sends Apple a privacy-preserving, aggregate report of conversions to the relevant ad networks. These reports are designed by Apple to not identify individual users.
  • For Apple Search Ads, we use Apple's AdServices attribution token, which likewise does not identify you.
  • When you make a purchase, our subscription measurement provider (RevenueCat) may associate the purchase event with the AppsFlyer install identifier so revenue can be attributed to a campaign in aggregate.

What is NOT shared: We do not collect or share the advertising identifier (IDFA), so the app shows no App Tracking Transparency prompt. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. AppsFlyer processes this data as our service provider and only to provide attribution measurement to us.

How long we keep information

Your birth details and first name remain on your device until you change or remove them or delete the app. Questions and chart summaries sent to generate a response are processed to return your content and are not retained by us to build a profile of you. If you signed in with Apple, the copy of your chart we store is kept until you delete your account (in the app or by email), after which it is removed from our server. We may keep limited, non-identifying operational records needed to run and protect the service.

Your choices and rights

Because your personal details live on your device, you are in control of them:

  • Delete everything: deleting the MoonQ app removes the birth details and other data stored on your device.
  • Delete your account: if you signed in with Apple, you can permanently delete your saved chart and unlink your Apple ID from Settings → Account → Delete account & data, or by emailing us.
  • Edit your details: you can change your saved birth information within the app at any time.
  • Notifications: you can turn reminders on or off in your device settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) — including the right to access, correct, or delete personal information, and the right not to be sold your data or discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not sell personal data. To make a request or ask a question, email us at gabrelyanov@gmail.com. For CCPA purposes, we do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined.

Children's privacy

MoonQ is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at gabrelyanov@gmail.com and we will take appropriate steps.

International users

Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such processing. By using the app, you understand that the limited data described above may be processed to deliver the features you request.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and post the updated policy at this address. Significant changes will be reflected here, and your continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.

Not professional advice

MoonQ is provided for entertainment and self-reflection. Its content is not medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice, and is not a substitute for consulting a qualified professional.
