About

Warm astrology, honestly built

MoonQ is made by Magic Unicorn Inc. — a small team that has been shipping consumer apps people love for years, including work featured by Apple in 2017. We build astrology the way we’d want it spoken to us: warm, plain, and honest about what it is.

Who makes MoonQ

We’re Magic Unicorn Inc., an independent studio. One of our earlier apps was featured by Apple in its 2017 best-apps selection, and that bar — real craft, real usefulness — is the one we hold MoonQ to. We’re a design-led team: an app should feel like a good conversation, not a slot machine.

Astrology is having a moment, and a lot of it is thin — auto-generated horoscopes, doom, and “your soulmate is a Scorpio named Alex.” We wanted to make the opposite: something grounded, warm, and unafraid to tell you the truth about its own limits.

The rules we write by

Every word in MoonQ passes a short set of honesty rules. They’re not marketing — they’re enforced in how the app is built and reviewed:

Warm and plain

No jargon walls, no cold horoscope-speak. If your aunt who loves astrology wouldn’t say it at the kitchen table, we don’t ship it.

No fatalism

Astrology in MoonQ is a mirror for reflection, never a verdict on your future. We don’t tell you what will happen, and we don’t trade on fear.

Honest about the sketch

Your soulmate sketch is drawn from your chart — the qualities your placements lean toward — not a photo, not a real person, and we say so plainly, every time.

Scores are baselines

Compatibility numbers are MoonQ’s own engine baselines, built from element and modality chemistry. The same two charts always score the same — a real measurement, not a mood.

Grounded in the whole chart

We read your Sun, Moon, rising, and the rest — not a Sun-sign shortcut. When we can’t know something (like a missing birth time), we tell you.

Your data stays yours

Birth details live on your device. No advertising profiles, no cross-app tracking, no ATT prompt. See our Privacy Policy for exactly how it works.

Why “reflection, not prediction”

We think astrology is at its best as a language for self-reflection — a way to look at your patterns, your relationships, and your longings from a slightly different angle. It’s genuinely useful for that. It is not a way to know the future, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. MoonQ is built to give you the first thing and never pretend to the second.
